Hi Reader,
The festive holidays are finally among us! 2021 has truly been an amazing year. It’s important at this time of the year to reflect and look back at what you’ve achieved this year! Look back and compare yourself to your 2020 self.
I’ve recently changed jobs, starting a new position as a Product Designer at Meta, so I’ve been busy getting to grips with the change.
I just wanted to check in and make sure you enjoy the time off. Sit back and relax and enjoy yourself!
I’ve included some suggested festive watching and listening whilst you’re cosy indoors. I’ve made some videos talking about my recent job change.
Enjoy and catch you in 2022!
P.S. - If you’ve enjoyed watching, reading or using my design content in 2021 show your support with a tip and add to my tip jar! ❤️
Thanks!
Furquan
My UX Portfolio That Got Me Hired At Big Tech!
A common part of a design interview is to do a portfolio presentation. I walk through my design portfolio presentation that I used to help me ultimately land job offers at big tech companies.
I now work at Meta as a product designer and I used this presentation during my portfolio presentation.
How To Give Great Feedback As A Designer
Feedback is “a gift”. It’s so crucial to help us improve and progress as a person. Without feedback we can be blind to things we’re not doing well and it’s going to be hard to improve.
It’s our duty to actively give feedback to people and seek feedback. When seeking feedback it’s important to understand what type of feedback you’re seeking. This video details how to give feedback to people using the “COIN” framework. Having the right Context, Observation, Impact and Next steps.
Joining Meta As A Product Designer.
I recorded this video before my first day at Meta (Facebook), giving my open and honest thoughts of why I decided to join Meta as a product designer.
I thought it'd be cool to see how my views change when I look back on this video in a year's time!
