About Furquan

Hi, I’m Furquan!
I’m a Lead Product Designer at Scale AI, previously at Meta. I design, build and ship whole products with AI, from government services in Qatar to apps I use every day. You can see my work in my portfolio and my CV.

I started at Ford on a degree apprenticeship at 18, shipping mobility products like FordPass Pro. Then I spent four years at Meta in London and San Francisco, on Facebook Groups, Horizon Events VR and Workplace, where I worked on Meta’s first Gen AI feature for work. At Scale AI I was the first design hire in London and helped scale the design team.

Beyond the day job, I build community. I founded Crescent Creatives, a London community for Muslim designers, led Muslims @ Meta London, and run hands-on AI design workshops from London to Doha. I share what I learn on YouTube and in my Ready Set Grow newsletter, and I’ve mentored 50+ designers into jobs.

I also build things for my own life: TrainTimesUK for my commute, AutoScout for buying a used car, and Sahara Studio while I learn Arabic.

When I’m not designing, you’ll find me running (I ran the London Marathon in 2024), playing football, bouldering or travelling to explore new cultures and ideas.
