Remember You Have Choice How You Spend Your Time
Choose how you spend your time

Remember you have a choice.
A really valuable piece of advice I got from a friend when starting at Meta was, "You have a choice where you spend your time, no one is going to manage your calendar for you".
It's down to yourself to decide what meetings you choose to attend to, what meetings you decide to decline. What projects you take on and how much time you spend on each one. What projects and activities gives you more joy? Ultimately it's your time and it's down to yourself to manage this effectively, you have a choice, no one is forcing you to turn up.
This is a reminder to take a look at your calendar and the projects you're taking on to evaluate how much time you want to commit to certain activities. Can you leverage and be more effective with async communication and cut down on a few meetings next week?
For me personally, i've wanted to improve my writing and strategic planning and thinking skills. So i'm creating and working on concepts that could help inform the team the future of the roadmap, which has been really interesting for me.
